Acceptance of terms
By creating an account or using OurHorizonGrid (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
You must be at least 16 years old to use OurHorizonGrid. By using the Service you confirm that you meet this requirement.
Your account
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account. Tell us immediately at hello@ourhorizongrid.com if you suspect unauthorised access.
We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these terms, post illegal content, or behave in a way that harms other users or the platform.
Content you post
Ownership
You retain full ownership of the content you upload — photos, videos, GPX routes, comments, and hazard reports. By posting content you grant OurHorizonGrid a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to store, display, and distribute that content as part of the Service.
Your responsibilities
You must ensure that content you post:
- Is yours to share, or you have the rights to share it
- Does not infringe any copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property right
- Does not contain the personal data of others without their consent
- Does not contain anything illegal, defamatory, abusive, threatening, or obscene
- Does not promote illegal driving behaviour, dangerous speeds, or road rage
GPS and privacy
If you upload GPX routes, you are responsible for ensuring you are comfortable with the location data they contain. We provide an optional privacy trim to remove the start and end of routes — use it if you want to protect your home address or other sensitive locations.
Hazard reports
Hazard and road condition reports are community-sourced and are provided as-is. We make no guarantee of their accuracy or currency. Never rely solely on in-app hazard data when driving — always follow official signage and road traffic law.
Acceptable use
You must not:
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the platform or other users' accounts
- Scrape, crawl, or copy data from the platform in bulk without permission
- Use the platform to distribute spam or unsolicited messages
- Post content that impersonates another person or entity
- Interfere with or disrupt the platform's infrastructure
- Use the platform for any commercial purpose without our written consent
Driving safety
OurHorizonGrid celebrates driving culture. However:
- Never use this platform (or any mobile device) while driving
- Route data and maps are for reference only — always follow current road signs and legal speed limits
- We do not endorse or encourage any form of dangerous or illegal driving
Intellectual property
The OurHorizonGrid name, logo, and platform design are our intellectual property. You may not copy, reproduce, or use them without our written permission.
Map data is provided by OpenStreetMap contributors under the ODbL licence, and CartoDB. Attribution is shown in the map interface.
Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that content posted by users is accurate.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of the Service.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by English law.
Termination
You may delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these terms, with or without notice depending on the severity of the breach.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We'll update the date at the top of the page. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
